Dissect mentor texts' Conclusions to see what components they have: Restated Claim, Summary of Evidence, Significance of the Theme for YOU PERSONALLY and the REAL WORLD. Read Ms. Leach's example for Poppy. Highlight each "section" of this paragraph to make sure it contains all three of the required parts. Apply this practice to your own Literary Essay by writing a rough draft of your Conclusion Paragraph in the rough draft packet following the guidelines we discussed (finish this for homework).

Special Announcement Regarding Birbery!
6th Graders:
The first Birbery bookclub will be held this coming Monday, February 2, during your recess period in the Media Center. Early that morning, the Newbery Award winner and honor books for 2015 will be announced. We will watch the recorded webcast of the announcement and learn what’s been chosen, then discuss! Remember – you need to attend at least two bookclubs to qualify for a chance to be on the committee. Hope to see you there!
