Halloween Homework 10/31/13

Well that was an adventure! Despite the power outage that lasted most of the day, we had a productive and fun day in the classroom. Your children were real troopers, just going with the flow of the day. Kudos to them!

Language Arts
1. 6th grade was able to work on giving peer feedback on our narratives. Be sure to ask to see your student's work in progress. They are posted to the Writer's Workshop page of their digital backpack.
2. 5th grade used the available light in the Media Center to work on reading Battle books.
3. Verb packet is due Monday, 11/4/13.
4. Verb test Wednesday, 11/6/13.
5. Nightly reading (if you can stay awake long enough after trick-or-treating!)
6. Bring a chapter book to class every day.

Social Studies
1. Chapter 3 test is tomorrow. Anyone with questions should see Mrs. Jacobs between 8:00 and 8:20 or between 11:05 and 11:20 tomorrow morning.
2. Every student now has access to the textbook online. They can read the book, listen to the book (in English or Spanish!), check out the main ideas, take notes, take practice quizzes, and so much more. Logging in to learntci.com using their school user name and password is easy!

Other
1. Remember to wear PINK (or RED) tomorrow!
2. There were a few issues with accessing the Snickerdoodles recipe. They should now be resolved. The recipe is here.
3. A huge THANK YOU to all the parents who helped out today. The kids had a great time!
