Homeroom/Announcements

-Tomorrow (Friday, 2/6/15) is an Early Dismissal for all BCS students. School will end at 3:00pm in order for BCS staff and families to attend Karen Fitzgerald's memorial service. For parents/guardians who cannot pick up their child at 3:00 PM and need child care from 3:00-4:10 p.m. (when bus transportation will run as normal), please fill out the information on the Early Dismissal form and return to the school office by Friday at 8:30 a.m. All students registered shall report to room 202 at 3:00 p.m. There is no cost for this early dismissal child care. Kids’ Club will run as scheduled from 4:10-6:00 p.m. for registered students. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact BCS CSO, Cindy Balicki, via email at cb15bps@birmingham.k12.mi.us or call 248-203-4448.

Language Arts
Bring a "just right" silent reading book to class every day. Also bring your Reader's and Writer's Notebooks and an appropriate writing utensil to class every day.
1. Due today: None
2. In class: Literary Essay Unit - Transitional Phrases and Literary Language. Learn how to transform "boring" transitional phrases in to ones that truly help your essay flow. Spice things up with Literary Language, as well. Complete a Peer Revisions checklist for at least one classmate, spending no less than 20 minutes reading, revising, and commenting on their essay.
3. Homework:
-DUE TOMORROW: Revised Literary Essay

We will begin typing these tomorrow in class.
-Every night: Read 30 minutes and complete READING LOG with parent signature


Social Studies

1. Due today: (Ch. 14 Key Content Terms were due yesterday)
2. In class: Continue Chapter 14: Unlocking the Secrets of Mohenjodaro. Complete numbers 1&2 for each artifact in ISN pages 102-106. You are making predictions for each artifact and answering the question, "What was this item used for in daily life?" The mysteries behind these artifacts will be revealed tomorrow!
3. Homework:
-Current Events News Report Presentation due 1/21/15-2/12/15
