Homeroom/Announcements
1. Next Wednesday, October 22nd, BCS will be having our "Walk for Fitz" fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will go toward short- and long-term non-covered medical treatment and needs for Karen and her family/children.
The event will be held at BCS. Registration is from 5-6pm, and the event will be from 6-7:30pm with dinner included at 6:30pm. The registration fee also includes an event day t-shirt.
Registration is $25/person, $120/family.

Language Arts
1. Daily reading.
2. Bring a "just right" silent reading book to class every day.
3. Bring your Reader's and Writer's Notebooks and an appropriate writing utensil to class every day.
4. In class: Today, both classes continued to explore the "Notice and Note Signposts" for reading fiction. We will be continuing to learn about these and hunt for them in our reading throughout this week and next. 5th graders also had the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Truesdell in the Media Center to learn about this year's Battle of the Books!
5. Homework: FINAL (TYPED AND PRINTED) PERSONAL NARRATIVE DUE MONDAY, 10/20/14. When you turn this in, you must include your peer revisions and rough draft. Must also be posted to the Wiki with the tags: "personal" and your username.

Social Studies

1. Due today: Ch. 3 Key Content Terms
2. In class: Today we continued Chapter 3. We worked on and completed in class the Reading Notes for Chapter 3(ISN p. 18-20).
3. Homework: Ch. 3 Processing (bottom of ISN p. 22) due Wednesday, 10/22/14.
Ch. 3 TCI Reading Challenge Game (online) due Thursday, 10/23/14.
5. Please note: The Chapter 3 Test will be Thursday, 10/23/14. It will be open textbook and open ISN. Students will also be allowed to work with a partner of their choice. At the end of the Unit (right before Thanksgiving Break), we will be having a cumulative test on Chapters 1, 3, 4, 5.
