Language Arts
1. Daily reading.
2. Bring a "just right" silent reading book to class every day.
3. Bring your Writer's Notebook and an appropriate writing utensil to class every day.
4. Today we continued to explore using concrete words and phrases in our narrative writing. We had time to practice and conference with a peer.
5. We also completed our beginning of the year spelling inventory (pre-test).
6. No other homework.

Social Studies
1. The timeline of our nine ancient civilizations was due today. We checked this as a class and discussed some background information about each location.
2. We began working on Map Skills today. Over the next few days we will be discussing map components, scale, latitude, and longitude. Today we focused on basic map components and did an activity in which we analyzed and labeled a map of Ludington State Park. If this "Basic Map Components Activity" was not completed in class during the 20 minutes we spent on it, it is now homework DUE TOMORROW.

Homeroom
1. Ms. Leach should have her email activated very soon.
2. Rouge River Field Trip Forms due Monday - This Friday would be even better!
3. T-shirt order forms due Monday - This Friday would be even better!
4. Please send in $2 for the bandanas you received at camp. Mrs. Jacobs has two bandanas that were found in various locations at camp. Please see her if you think one might be yours!
5. Mrs. Jacobs has posted about 250 photos from 5/6 Camp! The link to the DropBox is on yesterday's post. If you have photos to share, send an email so you can be added to the contributors. A link to share the DropBox will be sent to you, directly. Please rename your photos so you don't accidentally overwrite someone else's photos. A suggestion is to use your last name and then number the photos (i.e., Jacobs01.jpg, Jacobs02.jpg, etc.).
